P= Participation "Piano-Theatre" workshops.
Students are introduced to piano playing, music theory, interactive drama and theatrical singing by using costumes, props, songs, choreography and improvisation.
Workshops are custom-designed for these groups:
AGES 3 THROUGH 6
AGES 7 THROUGH 10
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
STUDENTS with LEARNING DIFFERENCES (ADHD/Autism)
MEMORY CARE PATIENTS (Dementia/Alzheimer's)
I=Immersion For dedicated piano and vocal coaching students who are motivated to devote significant practice time each week for the advancement of piano and/or vocal skills, technique and repertoire. “Immersion” piano students may participate in the Music Educators Association of NJ (MEANJ) annual Piano Competitions (and other piano competitions, as applicable) and MEANJ June Auditions.
A=Appreciation For piano and vocal coaching students who have extremely busy schedules but still would like to have the therapeutic benefits of a weekly experience with music. This program does not require any at-home practice. Lessons still involve the student playing and/or singing in part but the focus is more on style, form and analysis, intelligent listening to repertoire and exploring the effect of music in drama.
N=Notation For students who are primarily interested in music theory and composition. Students transcribe their own pieces and arrange others as well as analyze pieces from different eras.
O=Ovation For students who love to play and/or sing for audiences and are specifically working on material for theatrical auditions, college auditions, recitals, performances and recordings. “Ovation” students work on presentation elements such as posture, stage blocking, character development, character dialect, choreography, and costuming.
